Jami was so thorough, I’m surprised she missed this. Nerdy cut through the park because the boat captain wasn’t going to wait even though Nedry paid him in advance to stick around longer to wait for him. The hurricane had everybody headed for the mainland spooked and the captain was worried they’d all be stuck if he waited for Nedry.
